COVID-19 Drives Changes for Community Councils.
North Ayrshire Council have announced changes to the operations and constitutional conditions of all NAC Community Councils to recognise restrictions introduced as a result of the COVID-19 crisis.

Roads
North Ayrshire Council provide a list of the planned road works for the future which will be published when available.
NAC also provide regular updates for roadworks across the area including Arran as appropriate.

Elderly Forum
An ACC representative attends the Elderly Forum.
The Elderly Forum meets on the third Wednesday of each month (except July, Aug and December)in the Ormidale Pavilion from 11am until 1pm.

The meetings are open to all residents aged 55 and over. Details and topics for the meetings can normally be found in the Arran Banner.
Youth
The Community Council are very keen to hear from all sections of the community and in particular all the residents who look forward to a long and happy working and leisure life here.

Planning
Current Planning Applications
Planning applications for Arran are notified to the Community Council on a weekly basis and if required to respond we will discuss and submit a reply to the specific applications requested by NAC planning Department. These responses can be viewed on the NAC planning website using the specific application ref No.

Liz Evans is the Community Council's representative for Health related matters and will submit material as available from the various meetings and consultative boards attended.

Transport & Roads
The Community Council continue to work with our local and national representatives to develop a strategy for the improvement and development of the islands roads. Working with the NAC roads department we have developed a good relationship which ensures the local views and priorities are discussed and notification of works is published on a regular basis.
NAC Roads Maintenance programme
North Ayrshire Council will provided a summary of planned road maintenance for the island for 2019 when available.
Ferry Committee
The ACC representative to the Ferry Committee is Bill Calderwood. Isle of Arran Ferry Committee meets on the second Monday of each month and the chairman is Iain Thomson. Their AGM is held in June and is open to the public.
Clyde Stake Holder Group
Meets twice per year. Arran is represented on this group by a representative from the Ferry Committee and an appointed NAC Cllr.

Forestry Extraction Work Group
Following a presentation from the Forestry Commision to the Community Council in May 2015 a working group was established with the following brief:To critically review and advise the Forestry Commission on its strategic objectives for timber extraction on Arran and evaluate all proposed options.

Environmental Panel
Richard McMaster attends the Forestry Environmental Panel meetings with the Forestry Commission. These meetings are held four times per year and are intended to inform the local community of Forestry plans and intentions in Arran and offer an opportunity for contributions.
